Lifetime Has Struck It Big

Reported from New York Magazine: "Lifetime debut on Thursday of last week drew 4.2 million viewers — more than any season premiere in the series's history — making it the highest-rated competition-style reality-show premiere so far this year on cable. Models of the Runway drew 1.9 million viewers, while the All-Star Challenge drew 2.9 million viewers. This, Lifetime boasts in a press release, reaffirms its position as the No. 1 network for women. Sounds like it's time for a cupcake party over there." Wow Bravo has really messed up, but then again they do still have the Housewives (and oh how we love the drama) and Rachel Zoe. They will be fine.

Carol’s Daughter Collabs With Disney

Carol’s Daughter is launching a new bath collection to celebrate Disney’s next big release, The Princess and the Frog. The film which is set to release in December, has everyone excited. Says Carol's Daughter founder, “I’m thrilled and proud that African-American girls everywhere will see the movie and see someone to identify with.”

The Carol’s Daughter bubble bath, detangler, shampoo, and conditioner celebrate the new princess, Tiana, by featuring moments from the film on their packaging. Each item in the collection is priced at $10.

CFDA Publishes American Fashion Cookbook

Food and fashion don't always go hand in hand, but the CFDA is trying to change that this month with the release of American Fashion Cookbook, a compilation of recipes, illustrations, and food-related quotes from over 100 American designers. No word on what foodies like Jason Wu or Peter Som contributed, but Derek Lam went with Yellowtail Crudo, Isaac Mizrahi submitted Mushroom Truffle Spaghetti, and Diane von Furstenberg, who says she's "never been a great cook," added a recipe for Saturday Night Chicken. The book can be purchased @ Amazon.com.

Anna Wintour To Be On David Letterman

Next Wednesday marks the premiere of The September Issue movie, but the following week — Monday, Aug. 24th, Anna Wintour is appearing on CBS's Late Show with David Letterman, presumedly to promote the Vogue movie. She's also confirmed to be going to London Fashion Week for the upcoming Spring 2010 season — for the first time since 2007 — which is just what organizers were hoping for.
