Aston Martin-One-77: The Most Expensive Car In The World

The Bugatti Veyron just lost its claim to fame. Having been dethroned as the fastest car on the planet, the $1.4 million Veyron (http://www.bugatti.com/en/veyron-16.4.html ) is no longer the world's most expensive ride. That title now rests with the One-77 (photos above), the $2.3 million hand-made coupe Aston Martin will sell this year.
Aston Martin isn't saying much about the One-77, a code name for the as-yet-unnamed coupe, but the project started about 15 months ago. The hand-hammered aluminum bodywork retains the general profile of the gorgeous DB9 but is more muscular. It covers a carbon fiber chassis and a 7.0-liter V12 engine said to produce 650 horsepower. Top speed is estimated at 220 mph and 0-60 mph arrives in 3.5 seconds.
Paying $2.3 million for a car is beyond excessive, but then, those few who get a One-77 aren't buying a car. They are, according to Aston Martin, buying An Experience. It’s been said that buyers will be invited to the factory in Gaydon, UK, where they'll meet with designers and engineers to develop the car to their exact specifications.
So who's on the buyer’s list? The bookies at William Hill Casinos have opened betting and David Beckham is their 9-4 favorite to be first in line. Singer Jay Kay of Jamiroquai is second at 3-1, while the odds on Russian billionaire Roman Abramovich stand at 7-2.
As for Aston Martin's decision to build just 77, it's said to have stemmed from Urlich Bez's (Aston Martin CEO) belief that seven is a lucky number. It certainly is for those fortunate enough to get one!

Hot Rod:Frazer-Nash Namir by Giugiaro
Frazer-Nash was long ago a famous British car maker and even though they are no longer building cars the company is still around searching for the next big thing which could get them back in everyone’s attention. The company started to develop hybrid drive systems and they teamed with one of the best car design companies in the world, Italdesign Giugiaro to make an extreme concept called Namir.
The generator charges a 400V lithium battery pack which feeds electrons to a the car’s electric motors at each axle. This hybrid system and the breathtaking aerodynamic design will make this car accelerate from 0 to 60mph in 3.5 seconds and it should reach a top speed of over 184 mph. Whoa!!!

Christian Louboutin Marie Antoinette's
Despite the money crunch, shoe designer Christian Louboutin has designed his latest pair of heels which cost a whopping $6,295!!!!!!
The shoes are inspired by Marie Antoinette, and Louboutin collaborated with embroiderer Jean-Francois Lesage, to create a capsule collection of yellow, pink and blue silk shoes.
For your money you will also receive a specifically constructed box in which to keep your very expensive heels, plus an accompanying illustrated book explaining how the intricately worked masterpieces were made.
Only 36 pairs have been made, and they will be sold at the Louboutin's Madison Avenue boutique.
I wonder who will be the first to wear these heels. My money is on Beyonce……

The Return of Versus
London darling Christopher Kane has been tapped to revive Versace's younger label, Versus. Launched in 1989 by the late Gianni Versace, who said it embodied "innovation, flair and unorthodox talent", Versus was closed when the company decided to downsize. Traditionally the go-to brand for the cool girl in school (with the trust fund to back her up, of course), Versus is set to do a full relaunch for spring/summer 2010. Under the new plans, Donatella will design a clothing line for spring/summer 2010, while Kane's collection will hit stores next July. Word on the street is Kane will be designing both the men's and women's clothing and accessories lines, and if this debut collection—the stones, the straps, the sky-high heels—is any indication, Versus' rise from the grave will be a quick and fierce one!!!
