Barneys Goes Big In Chicago

Today, Barneys New York unveils a new six-level store in Chicago on Oak St. that is bigger and bolder. Chicagoans will find expanded offerings of cosmetics, women's shoes, fine jewelry and women's designer duds. This Barneys is twice as large, at 91,500 square feet, and shows off a facade of Indiana limestone, floor-to-ceiling windows, and a three-level sculptural staircase that can be seen from the street. The new Barneys also features an Italian restaurant, Fred's, with lake views; men's formal wear and made-to-measure, and a Barneys Co-op section with denim and contemporary wear.

The chain operates about 40 locations including 10 full-size Barneys New York flagship stores in New York City, Beverly Hills, Boston, Chicago, and other major cities; smaller Barneys Co-Op locations; and about a dozen outlet stores.
