The first family has arrived!

Michelle Obama and her two daughters, Sasha & Malia, arrived Saturday evening in Washington, ahead of President-elect Barack Obama.   The Obamas arrived in their temporary home at the historic and luxurious Hay-Adams Hotel, near the White House.  The Obamas moved early so their daughters could start classes on Monday at the private Sidwell Friends School.  Other children of well-known politicians to attend dthe school include Al Gore III and Chelsea Clinton.  WELCOME to DC!!!!

Dr. Dre's son died from overdose

Dr. Dre's son, Andre Young Jr., died from an overdose of heroin and morphine, the LA Department of Coroner confirmed to PEOPLE on Friday.  Young, was found unresponsive by his mother in their home on the morning of August 23, 2008.  "This case has been closed, it's been ruled an accident due to morphine and heroin intoxication," coroner spokesman Larry Diets told PEOPLE.

Rumor is Tyler Perry is selling his 17,000 sq ft. bachelor pad in Fairburn, GA. The house has 6 bedrooms and 6.5 baths, and is going for $3.6 million.

For all my real Atlanta Housewives fans. Sheree was spotted at a New Years Eve Party hosted by Solonge and Jamie Foxx. But, that's not the news. The bag she was carrying is the same bag Kim (non-vocals) had on at the lunch with Sheree and Lisa (where Kim called Nee-Nee a drag queen). Is Ms. S really that broke? So, are reports true? Travolta's Son Dies in Bahamas

Reported from CNN: Travolta's son Jett died suddenly on Friday during a family vacation in the Bahamas, according to the family's lawyer. Jett, 16, suffered a seizure at his family's vacation home. Jennifer Hudson to sing at the Inauguration?

The New York Post is reporting that Jennifer Hudson is being asked to perform at the swearing in of President-elect Barack Obama, in what would be her first appearance since the October murders of her mother, brother and nephew. "Organizers want Jennifer to sing 'The Star-Spangled Banner' at the Inauguration on Jan. 20," a source told Page Six.





Hudson sang the national anthem at the Democratic National Convention in Denver in August.

Usher Performs in Vegas New Year's Eve

One of my favorite couples, Usher and Tameka Raymond took a break from the kids, while Usher hosted a New Years Eve party at Las Vegas club Bank at the Bellagio. Supposedly, this was the first night out for the couple since welcoming their second son, Naviyd Ely Raymond last month. Usher performed "Love In This Club" "Bad Girls" and "Yeah." The Raymond's also celebrated Tameka's birthday. Happy belated B’day Tameka!

Oprah's Move to D.C.

It was reported that our favorite daytime host Lady O, was packing up and moving to Washington, DC. to be closer to her friends Barrack and Michelle Obama. Although, it would have been nice to see Lady O and Sophie (her dog) walking around Adams Morgan on Saturdays, that report was false. However, we will keep you posted on the matter, you never know.

Is Sasha Firce Really a Cat Burglar?

I guess when Beyonce is taking song writer credits for songs she didn't write she'll put the blame on Sasha Fierce. Rumor has it, B is taking song writer credit for "Smash into me" on her "I am Sasha Fierce" deluxe edition album. The song was originally written by pop/rock sensation Jon McLaughlin as "Smack into me", and was to appear on his sophomore album. 2009 Oscar News

The dates for the 2009 Oscars have been revealed, and feature a slight shift from its regular time table.  The Oscar nominations will be announced on Thursday, January 22, and the ceremony will be held on Sunday, February 22.  Traditionally the nominations are announced on a Tuesday, but due to the presidential inauguration on January 20, the Academy of Motion Picture Arts & Sciences decided to push back the date.

No one is safe in this economy, not even the almighty CHANEL. The lux fashion house most recognized for it's quilted handbags plans to cut 200 jobs effective Wednesday. The Guardian reports that some are calling the layoffs Chanel's "worst crisis" since Coco herself let the entire staff go at the start of the war in 1939.
