Givenchy: Redux

After an amazing couture collection and a lot of positive buzz surrounding the brand, Givenchy has announced that Riccardo Tisci will be designing a capsule collection called Redux.
Redux will show twice a year during the pre-fall and pre-spring seasons. It is said to include re-envisioned classics (the white blouse) with modern twists (studs, ruffles, appliqué).

Zara Goes High Fashion For Fall

Zara is offering up some spot-on knock-offs for fall. From what we can tell from newly released images of the FW09 looks, there are both a dress and tuxedo jacket bearing the iconic Balmain big shoulder. There's a touch of faux fur (the real stuff was also widely incorporated on FW runways) for good measure.

Also slated to hit Zara's racks come September, a feather skirt just like the one Louis Vuitton showed for SS09 and puffed up shoulders and tightly synched waists just like Lanvin debuted for fall. In other words, it's Zara doing what Zara does best.

Designer Spotlight: Preen

$1160.00

$3250.00

$3625.00

$1120.00

Glancing at one of my favorite websites today http://www.net-a-porter.com/ I came across these adorable dresses by Preen. Here's a little background on the designers from New York Post.:

"Justin Thornton and Thea Bregazzi launched Preen in 1996, selling clothes inspired by iconic Britishisms like Victoriana and punk rock. One year later, they had a shop on Portobello Road, and in the years since, the London-based label has earned strong editorial coverage for its clean, fluid lines and slouchy-futuristic elegance. A Fashion Week decampment from London to New York for spring 2007 solidified their international status, and they are now sold in more than 25 countries. As Cathy Horyn noted in February 2008, “their clothes get more sophisticated without losing their cool.” In Copenhagen in 2008, the duo—who in addition to their design collaboration are also a couple—debuted Preen Line, a younger offshoot that melds the classic Preen look with a little rock and roll. "
