Style Stunner: Thandie Newton

Thandie Newton looked fabulous at the Serpentine Gallery Summer Party. She gets a gold star for wearing this multi-colored Matthew Williamson Resort 2010 dress. Her look is almost a head-to-toe carbon copy of the runway look, but Thandie opted for a skinny gold studded belt instead of the wider runway belt, and she has a smaller bejeweled clutch. Also, I LOVE the nude cut-away ankle boots which completes this stunning look.

Project Runway Contestants Revealed

After a year of nasty legal battles, 'Project Runway' is finally coming back in style. The show's long-awaited sixth season faced an uncertain future for much of 2008. After the Weinstein Co. signed a reported multi-million dollar deal to move the show from Bravo to Lifetime, NBC Universal (which owns Bravo) filed a lawsuit, which was finally settled in April of this year. 'Runway' will now air on Lifetime as planned, starting Aug. 20 at 10PM. Season 5 ended its run on Bravo in Oct., 2008. So now that it has a new home, will 'Project Runway' be any different from previous seasons?

Here's what we know so far, according to the Hollywood Reporter:

L.A. State of Mind: Not only is 'Project Runway' moving networks, the show is also headed from New York to Los Angeles for the first time ever. As part of the move, 'Runway' will feature guest appearances from a number of L.A.-friendly celebrities, including Lindsay Lohan and Christina Aguilera. How very 'Top Model' of them.

Familiar Faces: Despite the move, season 6 will carry on with the same principle cast: Host Heidi Klum, mentor Tim Gunn and judges Michael Kors and Nina Garcia.

And A Few Unseen: Because season 6 wrapped long before the case was settled, February's Bryant Park fashion show had to be taped without appearances from the three finalists. Instead, their collections were shown anonymously.

Model Behavior: The sometimes robotic 'Runway' models (who take part in their own mini-competition, as Heidi always likes to point out) will star in the spin-off 'Models of the Runway,' airing after the show.

We’ve got our first look at the new round of designers duking it out in the cutting room on the sixth season of Lifetime’s Project Runway.

Valextra Part Duex

Back on February 6th, we did an article that featured Victoria Beckham carrying a Valextra bag. Although these elegant bags have been handmade in the same workshop for more than 70 years, they've managed to remain under the radar until fairly recently. And with only one or two new styles created each year, these bags rise above the tide of flashy trends and join the zone of discreet luxury. Here are five reasons why we love Valextra:

1. No logos ever.
2. It's the anti–"It" bag! No frills and dangly bits — just clean simple design.
3. They are heirlooms — classic pieces that you will pass on to your daughter.
4. It’s the Hermès of Italy.
5. The 60 people who work on each handbag ensure perfect craftsmanship.

Handbag shown ranges from $1,500 to $2,500, available at Barneys.com or at Valextra.

Christian Dior Couture Fall 2009

Everyone knows John Galliano is a brilliant designer and showman. Without question, he knows how to test and make use of his whimsical work. Sometimes that means going all-out and over-the-top. His girls proved more than up to the task, skillfully flaunting the designer’s glorious tailoring, curvaceous dresses and explosive gowns, each an extravagance of color, texture, structure, embellishment…and of skill — a point Galliano made with no small level of artistic flourish. “It all begins with the corset,” he said. He therefore sent out models wearing dresses worked in various transparencies, or seemingly caught in states of undress — jacket without skirt, enormous ball skirt without bodice. As for color, it was joyful — fuchsia, yellow, purple, orange……Whimsical indeed…….
