The Oldest Supermodel?

For any woman who dreads her next birthday or finding a few tell-tale locks of gray, Daphne Selfe proves that age truly is state of mind. The 80-year old grandmother of four started modeling at age 20 (third pic below), when she won a local modeling competition. Today, she still works the runway for designers like Dolce & Gabbana, Michiko Koshino and Tata-Naka, making her Britain's oldest catwalk model. Selfe also does magazine shoots, earning over $1,000 per day, and has appeared in ads for Nivea and Olay. She reentered the modeling industry 11 years ago when someone spotted Selfe at a fashion show and suggested that she might appeal to glamorous grandmothers. How fabulous! True beauty never fades.......

Tokyo 5 Denim Brand Aims for Affordable Cool

Just when you thought another denim brand couldn't possibly squeeze itself into the market, along comes Tokyo 5, a new denim and sportswear line that fuses vintage Americana with Japanese street style and references Japan’s keen interest in American pop culture. If $200 jeans seem like an unnecessary expenditure, fear not. The distinguishing factor of Tokyo 5 is its price point: $68-$98 for the jeans and $38-$48 for the tees, meaning the younger customer that the brand will target has a better shot at affording it.

Manolo Blahnik's Color of Spring

While flipping through the March issue of Elle, I was pleasantly surprised to see these delicious new colors for Manolo's old classic pump. This suede pointed toe pump with a 4 inch thin covered heel is going for $575.00 at Barney's.... MMMMMMM is all I can say.

The Game Is Back, For Now

For the last couple of months there's been talk about CW's The Game being taking off the air (like every other black show that doesn't talk with Tyler Perry). The rumors maybe wrong, The Game will air a new episode on Friday and here's a little spoiler.

With the encouragement of Melanie (Tia Mowry) and Kelly (Brittany Daniel), Tasha (Wendy Raquel Robinson) realizes she’s finally ready to introduce Malik (Hosea Chanchez) to his father, Chauncey (Michael Boatman). Also, at the same time that Melanie decides to try and get back together with Derwin (Pooch Hall), Derwin and Janay (guest star Gabrielle Dennis) rethink the status of their relationship as they are about to become first-time parents.

Heidi Klum's New Clothing Line

At the 50th birthday celebration for Barbie in Malibu (Malibu Barbie-get it?) Mattel spent an estimated $500,000.00 on a real-life dream house to hold the celebration. Heidi Klum was there but was tight-lipped about her up and coming line. Keep your eye open, this might be good.

Ted Gibson Haircut for $75.00

If only I lived in New York, at Ted Gibsons salon today is Recessionista Tuesday. A haircut is $75 (originally $125 to $175), a single-color processing is $75 (originally $125 to $150), and blowouts are $40 (originally $95 to $110). Drop off your business card or fill out a registration form today from 10 to noon for a chance to win a free makeover worth $950. $75.00 I don't think Ted will be cutting your hair, but it's still a great bargin compared to the orginally price.

Coco Chanel Biopic

Didn't we already see the lifetime movie with Shirley Maclaine? Due to release in France on April 22nd and then here in the U.S, "Coco avant Chanel" is a biopic of the early life of Chanel. Although I can't understand the trailer (in french) the film looks to be filled with love, sex, parties and fashion. Karl Lagerfeld over saw all of the costumes, so this should be interesting. To view the trailer click on the link below.

Madonna to Collab With Ed Hardy

According to the Mirror, Madonna and Christian Audiger will be collaborating on a new fashion line. Audigier who is designing an outfit for Michael Jackson's comeback tour approached Madonna about the line after he spotted her wearing Ed Hardy. It didn't take much convincing, Madonna thinks that Christian is a real fashion innovator (are you kidding me).
